LED LIGHT SAFETY IN ROOF VOIDS
Client: Tesco & Barclays Bank
Savenergi have assisted the country's foremost grocer, Tesco plc, and leading high street bank, Barclays Bank plc to realise the benefits of using the latest LED floodlights to illuminate their hazardous roof void and plant room areas. Both organisations have completed projects to adopt this newest of technologies.
Savenergi are finding that the latest LED lighting technology available to the market is addressing major issues in providing economical light in hazardous and critical operating areas. Most modern office and warehouse buildings have plant rooms and roof void areas which house vital plant and machinery that require illumination whenever natural light is not available. It is a requirement that these areas must be illuminated at all times for maintenance or repair activities to take place. Traditionally, these areas are normally lit by SON discharge lamps.
Today Savenergi are able to offer LED floodlights as an alternative light source. LED technology offers many advantages over SON or halogen lights in terms of colour rendition, critical when working on electrical wiring, instant white light, i.e. no warm up time, and reduction in energy consumption by as much as 90%. The versatile LED floodlights are available in 12, 24, 48, 96 and 144 watt configurations which provide a comprehensive range of light output to meet most lighting requirements.
Savenergi are suppliers and installers of these units, which offer extended operating life of up to 70,000 hours (8 years continuous usage), plus up to 90% reduction in electricity consumption, providing major cash savings to their customers.
