Govt to simplify CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme

The Department for Energy and Climate Change is to simplify the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme to minimise the burden on businesses, climate change minister Greg Barker has said.
He highlighted the success of the first year of the scheme, which has led to many UK businesses identifying and recording their energy use. Through simplification, however, the scheme will provide "greater business certainty by continuing the fixed price sales into the second phase (rather than auctions of allowances in a capped system)," he said
